Epcot International Festival of the Arts Expands for 2018 with 39 Days Of Fun

After their Inaugural Year in 2017, the Epcot International Festival of the Arts is returning to Epcot today for a second year!!! And this year the festival will be bigger and better than ever with an expanded celebration of performing, visual and culinary arts. It runs from January 12 – February 19. With the expanded 2018 venue, festivities will be running seven days a week while Disney On Broadway performances will be happening each weekend (Fridays through Mondays).EpcotFestivalOfTheArts

We attended the inaugural event in 2017, and are looking forward to seeing what this expanded festival will be like. One of the things that I remember standing out for me are the unique Photopass opportunities. If there is ever a time or event to purchase the Photopass option, this is it. Disney gets really creative using props and one-of-a-kind photo-ops with this festival for sure!!!

The Festival of the Arts has something for everyone, with world-class cuisine, amazing visual art and fantastic live entertainment. You can also meet some phenomenal artists, sample gourmet food, listen to live musical performances, stage productions and other amazing shows that Disney has lined up.

According to Disney Parks Blog website, the festival features:

  • Seminars and workshops from top Disney, local and nationally-renowned artists including classes on drawing animation, photography and the art of making topiaries – just to name a few
  • More than a half a dozen specially-created food studios offering a wealth of “artistic” culinary delights
  • A host of performing artists that build on Epcot’s already stellar lineup of authentic performers
  • And the Disney on Broadway series featuring performers from some of the best Disney Theatrical productions

One of the options we took advantage of last year was one of the Disney on Broadway Dining Packages, where you can enjoy a great meal at one of the participating Epcot restaurants and then enjoy priority seating for their Disney on Broadway concert series.

From the Disney Parks Blog website:

Starting today, guests can book a delicious breakfast, lunch or dinner, and later be followed by a phenomenal Disney on Broadway inspired concert – select dates from January 12 – February 19, 2018. The concert series will feature pairings of Disney on Broadway stars, singing favorite songs from award-winning Broadway shows. When you reserve a Disney on Broadway Dining Package, you’ll be able to relax at your meal with friends and family and rest assured that your priority seats are waiting for you for the 5:30, 6:45 or 8 p.m. concert.

* Disney on Broadway Dining Packages are available for breakfast, lunch and/or dinner and include a 3-course meal or full buffet, depending on the location.

Be sure to book these packages soon before they start to fill up!!!

One final thing we really enjoyed last year were the giant murals that guests could take part in creating!!! At first you could hardly tell what it was you were painting, but then as more and more people contributed to the mural, it would start to unfold into a work of art.
