Melt-Away Bay Fun at Disney’s Blizzard Beach

Melt-Away Bay is just one of the many fantastic attractions at Disney’s Blizzard Beach waterpark!!! After spending a great time at the #DisneySMMC 2018 conference, we decided to extend our trip by an extra week and enjoy some more Disney fun. We had some park days, some shopping days, and some pool days at the Beach Club’s Stormalong Bay pool area. But on this particular day, we decided to hit Blizzard Beach!!!

We Love Our Disney Family Traditions

I am not sure if your family is like ours, but we have a lot of Disney Traditions, and we have certain things we do repeatedly. For us, Melt-Away Bay in Blizzard Beach has a tradition tied to it.

First off for those of you not familiar with this attraction, it is a Wave Pool that, as opposed to the Typhoon Lagoon Surf Pool which pounds you with one BIG WAVE every few minutes, gives a constant up and down bobbing of waves, pulling and pushing you around as you either swim or hang on to an inner-tube.

OK, so what is our family tradition when we hit Melt-Away Bay? Well, two of my sons try with all their might to get me under a waterfall area near the Big Rocks in the bay. For years I have been strong enough to hold off their attempts. In fact I usually end up turning the tables and dowsing them under that waterfall. But as I get older and they get stronger, things are beginning to change. Will their attempts from our last trip be successful or not? Check out the video below to find out what happened!!! 😉
