Toy Story Land Ride Height Requirements Announced

This has been a busy week for Toy Story Land news with the recent announcement of its opening date of June 30, 2018!!! This will set the opening just before the busy 4th Of July week. Now, Disney has also released information on the Height Requirements for the attractions in Toy Story Land.

There will be three attractions in Toy Story Land and the height restrictions are as follows:

  • Slinky Dog Dash Coaster – 38″ height requirement.  This makes it comparable to the very popular Walt Disney World attraction, the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train in the Magic Kingdom.  It also has a 38″ height requirement. This would indicate that Slinky Dog Dash will not have high speeds and sharp G-Forces, but something the whole family can enjoy together.  By comparison, Rock ‘n’ Rollercoaster has a 48″ requirement and Space Mountain has a 44″ inch requirement.
  • Alien Swirling Saucers – 32″ height requirement.  This is the lowest height requirement that any Walt Disney World attraction requires (other than no requirement at all) so it should be a pretty easy going ride.  It will be using the same height requirement as Mater’s Junkyard Jamboree in Disney California Adventure, and has a very similar look and feel, so that can be used as a good comparison.
  • Toy Story Midway Mania – Any Height.  Just as it is now, guests of any height will continue to be allowed on this fantastic ride, which will soon be a part of the Toy Story Land roundup. A new line queue will be opening up once this land is ready, and the concept art for the queue looks amazing!!!

As with everything, there are those on both sides of the fence. In some social media circles there are those complaining that the height restrictions will not allow their young ones to enjoy these new attractions, and others pointing out that the height restrictions are there for a reason, for everyone’s safety. Some have suggested “boycotting” the new land, while others say, “Go right ahead and boycott. That is just fewer people in lines for a park that will be at capacity for many weeks after opening anyway!”

So, what do you think? Are you already planning on going to Toy Story Land, and if so, when? Are you looking forward to these new attractions?  Do you see any point to “boycotting” the new land over height requirements? Share your Point Of View in the Comments below. We’d love to hear from you!!!
